A 3-Day Capacity Building Organized By YOHaD for Staff, Volunteers, and
CBO Partners Ended in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria

Youth Organization for Health and Development Initiative (YOHaD)     organized a 3-day Capacity Building on Organizational Capacity Assessment, Documentation, Proposal Writing and Sustainability Strategies.

This is in a bid to build the capacity of some of her newly employed staff and volunteers. On some strategies required for effective output of some of her program and introduce some of her newly design initiatives mainly Pre-tertiary Preparatory Program (P3) and her redesigned Organizational Capacity Assessment.

   
       

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

       

 YOHaD used the opportunity to step down a four (4) day Capacity Building training organized by Society for Family Health (SFH) for  her CSO partners on Documentation and Sustainability Strategies to her CBO partners benefiting from the ongoing Comprehensive Integrated Approach to HIV/AIDS Prevention & Care (CIHPAC) project which YOHaD is SFH CSO partner implementing the Behaviour Maintenance (BM) segment in three Community of Rivers State through three CBOs, Police Action Committee on AIDS (PACA) Rivers State and NASHIN.

YOHaD is mentoring, monitoring and supervising these organizations for successful project implementation and sustainability of the CBOs. The training is part of YOHaD phase down plan for the project which is expected to end by December 2010.

Some key topic on Documentation treated were Abstract writing, report writing, human interest stories, case studies etc. As Behaviour Change Communication which is major component of HIV prevention was properly treated.

YOHaD Executive Director, Worgu Emmanuel Chukwuemeka challenged participants especially the CBO/NGO members in attendance to seize every opportunity they have to build their capacity as that is the only way to keep them updated, which will in turn enhance the quality of their service delivery.
